Canon XL-H1s & XL-H1a

by admin on May.24, 2008, under Videography

XLH1s

Here comes the cam from Canon that will replace the XLH1 and that is the XLH1s. Again Canon decided to give you the option of JackPack or no JackPack with the XLH1s and XLh1a versions. It was only a matter of time but not surprising that this would happen. Add the s and a to the end of the already revolutionary XLH1 and now you have an entirely new marketing window. Nothing seems to have change much except for the lens, more control on gain functions as well as some noise reduction tools. The sensor size is still 1/3rd and honestly i would rather be betting my money on a bigger chip camcorder at this point of time. Oh also the 4 channel audio if you need such a requirement. As for Treasure Productions, we are happy with our slews of SONY Z1s as well V1s and also EX1. Our next instalment shall be the SONY EX3.

studio shoot

Had a nice shoot aranged on 13th May at 3pm at our Treasure Productions studio with Mark and Shirlene. Alvin & Roger were present for the nice little shoot which started with the use of the Kessler crane and also the Brevis 35 mm adapter to check out workflow.

Our shoot took us to East Coast Beach where we directed a few visuals so that we could use in the wedding on the 16th May. The weather did not help but held up for us to complete without a hitch.

The Sony HVR-Z1 standard stock and the other rigged with the Brevis proved alot of fun except the fact i think i had the wrong cinefuse filter on at the time which caused drastic vignetting.  However, I did not mind the look of the vigenetting in this case.

A Wedding Couple’s Regret

by admin on May.11, 2008, under Videography

Treasure Productions have been in the wedding business for almost a decade now and we cannot begin to emphasize more the importance of a trained professional videographer.

We believe that any couple about to get married should watch this video clip. What you see here will hopefully make you reconsider if it ever cross your mind not to engage a wedding videographer.

I suggest that all couples who are planning to tie the know realize that a wedding video is equally or even maybe more important then a still photographer as you will see in the testimony given here by Jil and Eric. Indeed a photo may launch a thousand ships but i guess a video would lauch a whole fleet of ships.

Kessler Crane

by admin on May.11, 2008, under Videography

Well, we finally decided to up the ante again with our acquisition of an 8 foot Kessler Crane. Simply wonderful and got it working like a dream only a couple of days back. Intend to use this device in high profile as well as pre wedding MTVs as well to spice up our wedding video mtvs. Armed with nice assortement of weight plates tested the Kessler with the HVR-Z1 as well as the Canon XH-A1 with around 5-6kg of weights to make fine adjustments. I can only say for what it’s worth is a dream indeed.
